Want to make money as a creator?

School is in session. Creator school that is.

The creator economy stands tall with a jaw-dropping valuation of $250 billion, but here's the kicker – experts predict it's just getting started.

By 2027, we're looking at a potential market size of $480 billion.

I love myself some Lil Wayne. Go DJ, 'cause that's my DJ.

Can you feel the excitement building?

There are over 200 million creators, each weaving their unique stories and captivating audiences worldwide.

B2C has been ahead of the game for a minute. If you have ever scrolled TikTok or Instagram, you have probably seen some of your favorite creators doing brand partnerships, and I know at least this has happened to me, but on TikTok, the ads look so real that I sometimes end up buying stuff from the TikTok shop (more than once 🫢)

B2B, on the other hand, is lacking when it comes to doing partnerships with creators the right way.

Hold on, hold on, don’t get all angry at me.

The issue is that most B2B companies focus on sponsored posts with creators and/or influencers on LinkedIn mostly. And yeah, a creator and an influencer are two different things. Here’s how I view them:

Anyone can be a creator, but not every creator has influence.

I see many people who use creator and influencer interchangeably.

What's the difference?

𝗔 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 - is someone who produces original content in various formats, such as articles, videos, podcasts, graphics, or any other form of media. They may or may not have a significant following. Their primary focus is on generating high-quality content that resonates with their target audience.

𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 - has established credibility and a substantial following on social media or other platforms. Influencers often collaborate with brands to promote products or services through sponsored content, leveraging their reach and influence to drive engagement, brand awareness, and conversions.

Now, with that being said. We need to move as a collective B2B group to partnerships vs just transactional sponsored posts. As a brand, your audience will appreciate it a lot more.

You can do so much together versus just another one-off LinkedIn post that you do nothing with.

  • Sponsored posts

  • Webinars

  • Blogs

  • In-person events

  • Videos

  • And a whole lot more

Alright, but it’s noisy out there. There are so.many.creators. on these platforms.

So the question remains…

Why enter the market now?

What sets this moment apart from any other in history?

The answer is that technology, connectivity, and a growing appetite for authentic, creator-driven content are making the creator economy an ideal space for beginners.

With platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Beehiiv democratizing access to audiences, the barriers to entry have never been lower, and the potential for impact has never been greater.

Listen, we all have cell phones (mostly), and I can tell you that my iPhone 14 Pro camera is better than many of the webcams I see today. So there really is no excuse.

What Challenges You Might Face?

I’m not going to lie to you. I have been doing this for 4 years and there have been MANY times that I have wanted to quit. So, let’s dive into the top challenges that most who want to start creating are looking to solve today.

  • How do I build an audience?

  • What’s my voice, and how can I be authentic?

  • How do I deliver value to your audience?

  • How can I monetize my content across different streams?

  • What potential creator partnerships will be good for me?

  • How to build my creative legacy?

  • How can I make it so I never need a resume again?

  • How do I improve my job security? You bet it comes to pipeline. 😉
